Registration for the US$1million mYprize Global Developer Challenge closes on 30th September

Kuala Lumpur, 22nd September 2010 – YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YTL Comms) is sending out the final call to global and Malaysian 4G developers, innovators and entrepreneurs who are interested to participate in the mYprize Global Developer Challenge. Closing deadline to register interest in the competition is midnight, September 30th, 2010.



The USD 1,000,000 ‘mYprize’ Global Developer Challenge


The deadline for the submission of 4G ideas and 4G application and device prototypes closes on November 30th, 2010.

The mYprize Global Developer Challenge is a unique international competition designed to inspire entrepreneurs and innovators around the world to create the next wave of Mobile Internet applications and devices. Many of these prototypes will find their way into the world’s first nationwide converged 4G network that is slated for launch in November this year by YTL Communications, the Internet and Communications arm of YTL Group, one of the most respected and largest infrastructure conglomerates in Southeast Asia.

“We’ve seen close to 2,200 entries so far with close to 60% coming from Malaysians. It’s going to be a tough call to choose the best out of the many interesting and innovative concepts. The quality of the submissions is very impressive and we are looking forward to seeing a flood of the 11th-hour entries from the world over before we close the registration of mYprize Global Developer Challenge at the end of September. The finalists, selected from a panel of internationally recognized judges from academics, venture capital and journalistic communities, will be invited to demonstrate in person at an exciting final round in early 2011. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories:

1st: USD$200,000
2nd: USD$120,000
3rd: USD$80,000

2.Top Device Prototypes:
1st: USD$200,000
2nd: USD$120,000
3rd: USD$80,000
